Pride Photo Award is an annual international contest for photos about sexual (LGBT) and gender diversity. We are looking for top quality photography on the following topics:

  • non-stereotypical images of gender, masculinity and femininity
  • the diversity of the LGBT community

The contest has started on July 6th and has ended on Monday August 26th at midnight.

By registering for the contest, entrants have agreed to the Contest Rules and Declaration.

Registrations and files uploaded after the deadline, will not be eligble to participate in the contest.

Photos could be entered in four categories. New this year is that we asked photographers to add an artist statement, in addition to a description of the photo (series). In the artist statement we asked them to tell us how the idea for the photo (series) and the photo (series) itself have come to be. What did they envision, what do they want to achieve with the series?

First of all, that information adds a layer to the story that is being told by the images. The maker’s vision strongly determines the end result.
Secondly, Pride Photo Award intends to help all of the winning entries to find the audience they are intended for. Knowing the maker’s intentions for the story, helps us find the right platform(s) for it.

A jury of internationally renowned photography experts has judged the entries and selected the winners, which were be announced on September 5th, 2019.

The winner of the 2019 Pride Photo Award (the main prize) will be flown to Amsterdam to attend the opening weekend. The opening and Award Ceremony will take place on Friday November 1st 2019.

The exhibition of all the winners of Pride Photo Award 2019 will be on display in Amsterdam during the month of November and is expected to draw 10.000 visitors.
