The 2013 jury
Pride Photo Award is proud to present the members of the 2013 jury.
The 2013 jury is chaired by Stephen Mayes (UK), until recently the Managing Director of VII Photo Agency New York. From 2004 to 2012 he was secretary of the World Press Photo. He works with commercial, art and fashion photographers and regularly writes about the ethics and current issues concerning photography.
Colin Jacobson is a British freelance photo editor, columnist and critic. He is the founder of the Reportage quarterly magazine on photojournalism, and worked as photo editor for The Economist, The Observer Magazine and The Independent Magazine. He taught Photojournalism at the University of Westminster.
Giovanna Calvenzi (Italy) worked as photo editor and director of photography for magazines such as Vanity Fair, Glamour and Moda. She has been the director of photography for Sportsweek, the Gazetta dello Sport supplement since January 2000. She has designed and curated multiple books and exhibitions on contemporary photography. In 1998, she was the artistic director of the Rencontres d’Arles photo festival.
Isabel Muñoz (Spain) is one of the most widely exhibited Spanish photographers. She traveled across the globe to capture the human body in all its beauty. Her works were on display in the Maison Européenne de la Photographie in Paris, the New Museum of Contemporary Art in New York, the Contemporary Arts Museum in Houston and can be found in private collections.
Last but not least, Jane Jackson (USA) is the director emeritus and advisor of the Sir Elton John Photography Collection since 2003. Before she became curator for this renowned collection she founded Jackson Fine Art, a gallery specializing in 20th century and contemporary photography, which she ran for 15 years.
