Speak Up! youth events

We are happy to announce the dates for the 2013 Speak Up! youth events.
 
The open air exhibition always gives us the opportunity to explore what people think about the winning images and about gender and LGBT issues. Local youths interview passers-by about the photo panels and film their responses. These interview films (in Dutch)from each of the seven districts of Amsterdam can be seen on our Youtube channel. For your convenience we have linked each of them separately below.
 
A compilation of these seven films will be used in the Speak Up! youth events: open discussions with young people about being yourself. They share stories about the question whether they are free to be themselves and how much freedom they allow others to be themselves. During the events the teenagers and a panel of people who are ‘different’ in some way share their experiences, which increases mutual understanding and respect. Pride Photo Award is an annual international contest for photos about sexual and gender diversity.
