Fifth and final jury member: Sunil Gupta!

Last week we announced four of the five jury members for this year’s contest, and we’ve just received confirmation from Sunil Gupta, who will fill the final open spot.

Sunil has worked as a fine art photographer in Canada, India and the UK, where he currently resides. He co-curated the first show in the UK about Art and AIDS in 1990, called Ecstatic Antibodies. The topics of sexuality, LGBT people and AIDS regularly feature in his work. His next photo book with his partner, Charan Singh, ‘Delhi: Communities of Belonging’, that will appear later this year with New Press, shows us the lives of 18 LGBT people.

We are very happy to welcome Sunil back on the jury. He was one of the people on the very first jury in 2011. He made an impression with his wit and his insight, framing several critical and moral dilemmas for the jury to tackle, regarding which stories to select and award. We are honored that is willing to join us again!
