2013 contest sees twice as many entrants and photos!

We’re having a bit of party here: the third edition of Pride Photo Award received over 3.000 photos that were submitted by 408 photographers from 48 different countries.  The number of photographers and photos have both doubled compared to 2012.
Last year 200 photographers from 40 countries submitted 1.400 photos.
Our strategy to reach photographers from all over the world proved to be very successful. The number of entrants from China increased from 2 in 2012 to 14 in 2013, thanks to our local partner Queer Comrades. Submissions from Mexico (from 1 to 37!), Italy, the USA and the UK have also increased significantly.
The international jury will arrive in Amsterdam on June 16th to select the winning photos. Stephen Mayes (UK), former CEO of VII Photo Agency and secretary of World Press Photo from 2004 to 2012 will chair the jury.
The winners will be announced on Wednesday June 19th 2013.
Are you just excited as we are? Keep an eye on our tweets and Facebook posts if you want to be the first to know the winners as they are announced!
