One week extra!

We’ve moved the deadline for the contest! You have one extra week to submit your work. The contest will close on June 8th 11.59 PM (23:59h) CET.
So why are we doing that? Not enough entries?
No, that is not the reason. We have already received more entries than last year (about 1.400 at this time).
So why prolong the contest?
We are looking for contestants from all over the world since we are an international contest. Most of the contestants are from the West, with a large group from The Netherlands, our native country. The last few months we have put a lot of effort in expanding our international network, especially in South America, Asia and Africa.
This means that we have many more institutions and people to inform about the contest. This takes more time than last year but we also have less time to do that. Last year the contest period was eight weeks, this year only five.
We thought that we had enough time, but we’re still working hard on spreading the Call for Entries and that with only one week left.
We want to give all the photographers in those countries a fair chance to participate. That is why we felt it was necessary to move the deadline.

Pride Photo Award is an annual international contest for photos about sexual and gender diversity.
